Why is it I manage to become attached to the one person who has no intention of following through with the affection shown to me?

It’s not her fault, that’s just how she is, seems it is just me, the sad sack who leaps at any demonstrations of affection because I seem to be so attention starved. Man these feelings suck, and now I know all the good progress I had made with my life will be for fuck all, and I shall degenerate into a fat slob…again

i have to ask… why in the name of the gods is china doing what it is to tibet? i don’t know all the facts but from what i have heard china is attempting to commit social genocide on the native tibetans, it is ridiculous and they still expect the world to come and enjoy the olympics and not raise a fuss about it, fuck china

Organised Religion

Due to the ‘world youth day’ or whatever that idiotic institution is I have properly defined my issues with the large churches and organised religious institutions. The first item on my list and one that not many people have a perspective on is disability. My brother is partially disabled, being that one of his eyes doesn’t work properly thus leading to a poorer quality of life for him, the basic problem is with his retina, normally it would be untreatable and he would have to go through life with a diminished ability to perceive. With all these recent discoveries however, in the field of electronics, stem cell therapy and so forth he has a chance to see properly.

The Catholic church, one of the most influential and rich organisations in the world has deemed that stem cell research is against ‘god’ and thus preventing my brother and thousands of other around the world from leading lives that most of us take for granted. So apart from all the obvious bad stuff the church has done, by restricting the scientific development of the human race they have held back people from living better than they would normally.

To that I say Fuck The Church

A Musical King of Warmth

music really is an amazing medium, it can convey so many emotions and ideas that were I to choose one entertainment for the rest of my life I would have to seriously consider giving up reading.

it is from this point of view that I have to say that music has become a festering sore on the face of human culture, occasionally it heals over when a new, decent , band makes an appearance but then bursts in a fountain of pus when a ‘new’ ‘artist’ appears.

But enough with the bodily analogies, basically I am appalled at the level to which music has become unsentimental crap that transpires to be a 2 minute song about ‘my humps’ or being ‘in da club’ it pulls at the very cords of my existence and strives to pull a deeply disturbing philosophical response screaming from my lips to wash over the untold masses of humanity and purge their souls of the fibrous rot that has infected them. But that’s neither here not there, one cannot stop this corruption of one of the most deeply and primitively powerful forces in human culture.

I ask that you, yes, you the reader take a moment to listen to something more sophisticated than ‘we dont go nowhere without toast’…….it is the only way to pull back from the lacking existence that we have decided to inhabit. To quell any protests you may have, I am not suggesting that you stop listening to the crap that so many people enjoy for some unintelligible reason but that you add into you daily musical quota something more intelligent, Stairway to Heaven for instance or even In the Court of the Crimson King

A Depressing Fugue

I just finished reading the last book in the Mortal Engines series, A Darkling Plain. My favourite character would have to be Shrike, not just because he is an almost unstoppable killing machine but because he views the world in a detached way.

Shrike’s world view is clinical and unemotional because nothing can hurt him, in his mind anyway. This leads to Shrike drifting through the stories with only one goal in mind, to stay close to Hester, his broken child.

Shrike is a ‘Stalker’ a resurrected man, he has an exoskeleton and blades in his fingers, he is around 7 to 8 feet tall and has green eyes. Because of this he is a startling sight to people.

After the end of the final book Shrike goes into ‘Hibernation’ and sits motionless for hundreds of years, with only his brain and eyes working, until he wakes himself up in the future and encounters inhabitants of the new world, a world without traction cities…(its a long story)

The New Software

This is pretty cool, I downloaded windows mail and now I can post quickly without logging into WordPress itself, its exciting only because I’m sad.

Anyways, I believe I am stuffed, I have a major English test on Tuesday, an oral presentation, which I haven’t even written and now I have to go do Kendo till midday, wow I am stuffed….

the problem with growing up…

recently I have considered the social mechanics of growing up, the stages of maturity and apparently ‘sudden’ realisations linked with one’s place in the world. because of this I can more or less deduce the level to which I am growing up, what really annoys me though, is people who assume that just because someone is older means they have to become a serious and anally retentive ‘suit’. It has happened many times to me, whether it was a parent or teacher or even someone of the same age but who considers themselves ‘better’ or more mature than me. I have been told to grow up and stop being childish, and into this realm of childishness falls; playing computer games, painting warhammer, reading books that appeal to me and singing the theme songs of various cartoons and movies that i remember.

I find this to be a idiotic thing to try and do, people who say grow up annoy me because in their mind growing up is indicative of becoming serious and doing everything you’re told to do and wearing the same clothes as everyone else (suits, etc), this leads to and inherent dissatisfaction with life as whoever conforms becomes bored quickly, from there they begin to hate their life and or job until a few years down the track they have been completely crushed and have turned into a younger amalgamation of oil company CEO’s worldwide, not giving a fuck anymore as the world is screwed anyway, why should they do anything.

in closing, don’t be one of those irritating controlling influences and try to make people ‘grow up’ in a way that you see fit. Everyone matures differently, and there is nothing wrong with playing computer games or watching a movie like Mulan, its all good, just don’t be a child.
